Final CA weekend report

FRIDAY

spent the night getting a maternity massage (bday gift from hubby) - i was a little nervous about how enjoyable it could be with a beach ball attached to my mid-section, but it was great up until the last 15 minutes when she had me lying on my back and the heartburn started kicking in. afterwards i ran to the store to pick up a few new and small toys for the kids in preparation for our upcoming plane flights and then met up with j and his co-workers at a bar for a bit of a going away party for him. (spoiler: these were the most exciting hours of my weekend.)

SATURDAY

the day was spent packing, droppings things of at goodwill, etc. j went floating down the river with friends in the afternoon and it was during that time that little miss k acquired a horrible looking black eye. t-man and little miss k were playing this game where they run after each other - they normally run in the same direction but on one round they crossed their wires and ran in opposite directions and right into each other. t-man's forehead collided with little miss k's cheek (right under her eye). it started swelling right away. now i have to avoid running into any policeman over the next week...

the night was capped off watching Superbad - not bad but i still found Amercian Pie's sophomoric sexual humor funnier.

SUNDAY

sunday meant more packing and for dinner, we took the kids to the local McDonalds to get out of the house and give them a chance to burn some energy at the indoor (read: AC) playground.

PROS
  • kid friendly
  • inexpensive
  • serve "safe" food items for t-man that he likes and so i don't have to stress about a possible allergic reaction
  • it gave j and i a chance to talk and hang out without being interrupted
CONS
  • the food (nutrition and quality - although j had some angus burger that he said was the best burger he had in a long time)

Happy birthday, HH, in case I don't call you before too late tonight! Great photos--you can tell Kelly her godmother's nickname was "Shiner" from age 2-7 due to frequent eye-to-other-child's-head injuries. Especially before scheduled family/school photos. Love you tons,
Niebs
