Happy Birthday T-Man!

Okay - i was hoping to post this on saturday since we celebrated my little boy's 3rd birthday this weekend but didn't find the time since i actually had a busy and fun weekend filled with many visitors.

PRELUDE:
his actual birthday was a week ago but i had to be out of town for my grandfather's funeral. so we celebrated this weekend and had a pretty good party considering that we know no one in town.

ACT I:
baby K's godfather, G, flew in Thursday night for a few days and then my college roommate, Jenny, and her husband and 3 year old daughter rolled into town from the Bay area on friday afternoon. our NYC friends (and only friends in the Fresno area), P & D, came over that night and we hosted a great dinner and i think fun was had by all.

ACT II:
back to the birthday - unfortunately godfather G had a flight back to boston saturday afternoon. but jenny & co along with me and T-Man went to the zoo and my little boy got a chance to feed the giraffes which i must say is pretty darn cool. i'm guessing that was one of the highlights of his birthday. jenny got some great pictures of the kids feeding the giraffes - maybe i'll try posting them when i get them from her.

FINALE:
anyhoo, the party was a casual barbeque with the same cast and characters (since we don't know anyone out here yet) minus godfather G and add in an appearance by our neighbors with their 2 boys. T-Man was thrilled to have the neighbors come over to play cars and loved the egg-free chocolate cake with lightning mcqueen on it that i made him.

hubby and i were exhausted last night but are so grateful that our friends were willing to brave the triple digits (yes it is STILL that hot here) and take the time to visit us. we are very lucky to have such good people in our lives. it was so much fun laughing again with our old friends. and i am sure in time we'll make some new ones here as well...
