ok - i haven't been good at all about posting this past week part due to not finding the time when the kids are running around, part due to me having caught a solid cold, and part due to me getting sucked into this book my high school friend, assi, lent me.
last thursday (10 days ago), i packed up the kids and hit the road with d down to LA. the plan was for me to catch up with my high school friend, assi, who is currently pregnant with twins (very exciting). then on friday, my in-laws were actually flying into LA from Nebraska for a friend's 70th birthday party. and hubby was returning from his business trip friday night - flying into LAX as well (he drove down to LA earlier in the week with d's husband, p.) we spent friday night at a hotel with j's parents at LAX which was great with the kids. they loved looking out the window and watching the planes land. spent some more qt time with them in the morning and then back to pacific palisades for another night with assi and her husband.
sunday was j's and my 7th wedding anniversary and we did a little shopping in santa monica with kids (and i mean little because the kids were getting cranky as soon as we stepped into our 1st store) and then headed back home. all in all it was a great weekend. i'm generally not a fan of LA but it was great to be able to walk around in a city again and feel its energy. plus it helped that it was nice and cool while i was there :)
