Cheer, cheer for ol' ND...

Got back late last night from my weekend at ND. i went solo and even though i missed j and the kids - it was a nice change of pace to be on my own timetable and to do whatever i wanted whenever i wanted.

it was so great catching up with my roomie friends and meeting the new additions to the weasel clan. there were lots of babies. miss niebs wins the travel prize taking planes and automobiles for almost 24 hours from an island in Alaska. brigita and co made the trip from mad town. D came in from indy, lan & fam from chicago, doc from D.C., and of course the south bend girls had a presence.

on saturday, tailgating was definite good times and then niebs and i had some qt watching the game together. j's dad scored some great seats for us (40 yard line and 20 rows up) to watch the irish suck again and not capitalize on all the penalties. and then after the game i had the opportunity to stay up way past my bedtime to watch the sox lose (if they were going to lose, they at least could have the decency to wrap it up before midnight).

sunday was spent travelling. niebs and her parents were kind enough to drop me off at my bro-in-laws outside of chicago in the afternoon and i got a chance to see my niece and nephew in their stunning halloweens costumes. they were excited to see me but not as excited as when they first heard of my visit and assumed t-man and baby k were with me. they got over the disappointment though and put on some good smiles when i arrived ;)

the weekend went by way too fast and i'm exhausted - but worth every minute. i guess its time to start planning the next trip...
