It's the little everyday surprises...

So i forgot to mention on my trip last week, i had a killer tomato basil soup at my bro-in-law's place. my sister-in-law, C, is known for her great (and gourmet) cooking and i made a mental note to add this to a long list of recipes to get from her. why do i mention this now? our doorbell rang this afternoon and t-man (of course) ran to the door to open it. there at our doorstep was a package which i expected to be for j's work, but i was pleasantly surprised to find it addressed to me. Turns out that C sent me the cookbook with the roasted-tomato basil soup recipe in it with a quick note saying "from one stay-at-home mom to another." with j currently being out of town on a business trip for a few nights and me being home solo with the kids ALL the time - it was just the lift i needed to get through the rest of my day. just a reminder of how little gestures can mean so much (and to try and be better at it myself).
