so t-man and baby k attended their first ND tailgater this weekend in pasadena and t-man even went into the rose bowl stadium to attend his first ND game. the 3 1/2 hour trip down there was fairly uneventful except for 2 things:
1. t-man suddenly decided to be potty trained on our trip and i (of course) forgot the travel potty seat (because he never uses it). he went potty at the rest stop, port-a-potty while tailgating, in the stadium - it was insane. and now that we're home, he's back to soiling his pull-ups ?!?!?!?!?
2. baby k choked/gagged while we were on the highway and threw up volumes (she had just finished eating a great lunch) not once but 3 times. j pulled over and it was quite the mess to clean up. so much for her cute irish outfit. fortunately i had one of t-man's old ND shirts that i threw on her. phew!
anyway, we met up with jenny and her clan, j9 was in town from DC, and a great surprise was that i got to see my college roommate of all 4 years, KT, and meet her new addition to the family - 4 month old Mia. it was good times by all - the weather was perfect, we were tailgating on grass (the golf course) with the mountains in the background, and the kids were being GREAT. actually the kids loved playing in the "sand boxes" - j felt bad at first, but then he reasoned that if they didn't mind you parking and tailgating on their golf course - it must be ok to play around in the sand traps.
afterwards, j took baby k back to the hotel to watch the cubs lose (ouch) and t-man and i went to the game. t-man made it thru halftime and then it was bedtime. so when we left, the irish were still losing. we must be bad luck because they finally pulled out a win AFTER we left. hopefully i won't be bad luck when i'm at the game this weekend.
oh and the "mommy, put your drink down" did come from t-man himself when he wanted me to play catch with him at the tailgater. let the record state that he also told daddy to "put your drink down."
