Farmstand scout report
since i am currently living in the fruit capital of the world - i figure i should take advantage of learning more about agriculture. the problem is that the topic doesn't interest me that much. but at a minimum, i can learn what is in season when. so to share my new knowledge, i 've started a section off to the side "what i am eating" - this will tell you what fruit you should be buying at the supermarket. right now the stands on the side of the road are overflowing with strawberries and cherries. i've got to buy some cherries - i've just been too busy with the strawberries lately. i can get 6 overflowing pints of the largest, reddest, and juicest strawberries ever for $8. they are unbelievable - i don't even like strawberries (i know - i'm weird) and these are amazing. i'll try to stop at a stand this week for some cherries and give you the low down...

Ooh, if you can get a hold of any Rainier cherries (they're yellow with reddish markings) they are the BOMB. Not sure if they're available outside of the PacNW...
i'll have to check it out - it's 100 degrees right now so i am going to wait until it cools down a bit (which might not be until october!)
